Brittany has been an educator for the past decade and founded and led Educator Wellbeing programs while authoring Faculty Wellbeing policies for schools in China, the Middle East and the U.S. She earned her Master of Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her Master of Science in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology from the University of East London. Brittany currently teaches Leadership and Social and Emotional Skills to 7th and 8th grade students at a public, middle-school where 46% of students are English-Language Learners and 97% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
In addition to teaching, she provides coaching centered on educator flourishing to educators, upholds educational leadership positions and works with Agency by Design Oakland to actively re-imagine better, equitable and more inclusive educational systems with the goal of fostering joy, connection and belonging within schools. Brittany is a grounded theory researcher and created the Ecological Model for Flourishing Educators with co-author Christian van Nieuwerburgh (their full article is published in the International Journal of Wellbeing). As a Positive Psychology Practitioner and coach, she works with individuals, teams and organizations to prioritize individual and collective flourishing.
